Our Leadership
The Rev. Alex Leighton is the lead pastor of Bozeman Anglican here in Gallatin Valley. Alex and his wife, Rebecca, and four children, Zeke, Sydney, Titus, and Violet, moved here five years ago, following God’s call here to help start a church that is both sacramental and missional. Bozeman Anglican has roots in the historical tradition of Christianity but as a new church, is aimed at reaching people who feel far from God or who have been disillusioned by previous church experience. Many in our region love the creation all around us but feel at times disconnected from its Creator.
Family ministry has been essential not only to Alex and Rebecca’s formation but to their current calling, namely, to see sons and daughters become fathers and mothers. They desire to see individuals and families rescued and set free, in order for all creation to see the sons and daughters of God revealed (Romans 8:19). They are eager to partner with the churches in the valley as God brings this mission to fruition.
Many people ask, “What is ‘Anglican’?”
The word itself means “of England,” and currently describes a global family of churches that are rooted in a deep history and tradition, and are also committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture.
As Anglicans, we are committed to being scriptural, sacramental, Spirit-filled, sacrificial, and salvation-oriented (Acts 2:42-47). However, as much as can be described in words, we believe that Anglican worship is best experienced in person. We would love to have you come join us!
